Karilyn Fazio has worked in the people development sector for the past nineteen years as an Executive Coach and Facilitator. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation, UCSMA, has a Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction), Curtin University, Diploma of Education, The University of Melbourne and a Master of Organisational Coaching (with Merit), The University of Sydney.

During that time she has provided one-on one coaching and on-going mentoring to many CEO’s, Partners, Directors and General Managers from companies as diverse as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Minter Ellison, Invesco, Citi, nab, Smorgon Steel, Nestlé, Intimo, New Horizons, CDU, Sensis, Emeritus Research, CSIRO, Fonterra, Transurban, Monsanto, Hallmark, University of Adelaide, CBRE, King & Wood Mallesons, Lutheran Community Care, Lindt, SPAusnet, Honda and Lion Nathan National Foods.

Karilyn’s strengths as a coach are in her ability to dismantle entrenched belief systems and patterns and to assist her clients to see the costs of their current behaviour and commit to altering it. She is powerful in the areas of interpersonal and communication skills, presentation skills, values clarification, motivation and performance enhancement, including business development, influencing, accountability structures, personal “branding”, networking and relationship and team management generally.

Karilyn has successfully coached men to adopt more collaborative and empowering leadership styles with subsequent improvements in team morale and results; she is also passionate about empowering women to greater confidence as leaders and trusting themselves in business. She coached the 2006 Telstra Business Woman of the Year and has worked with many other high-profile business women.

Karilyn has also facilitated workshops and provided dynamic team coaching to many leadership and management teams. She facilitates change and leadership development for companies such as Nestlé, Transurban, SPAusnet, The University of Adelaide, Charles Darwin University and Intimo; she designs and delivers customised programs in Leadership Development, Women in Leadership and Coaching and Communication skills. She is a dynamic and engaging presenter.

Karilyn draws on her diverse life and business experiences in her coaching and facilitation. She has a background in secondary teaching, was a Senior Account Director at Lintas Worldwide advertising agency, has developed her own businesses and continues updating her skills.

Her coaching firstly examines the belief systems that underpin our actions and results. She believes it is essential for clients to look at any self-limiting beliefs, their language and life patterns before we can achieve the outcomes we want. Coaching includes: assessment (using Hogan, The Leadership Circle or 360 Degree interviews), developing and agreeing the coaching brief, dismantling self-limiting beliefs, examining purpose, values, and vision, setting measurable goals and defining focused action plans. A variety of validated tools and techniques are then used to develop competencies and remove blocks so that clients can achieve valuable changes in their professional and personal lives.

Karilyn has a rigorous but flexible coaching methodology based on well researched therapeutic and coaching principles. Her coaching draws on Humanistic Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Action Learning, Positive Psychology and a systemic perspective of leaders in relationship to both their context and the people they lead.

Karilyn is a person of high integrity, as demonstrated by sixteen years community volunteering with Family Life, a leading community based Not for Profit, including nine years on the Board and three years as President. She sees her clients as resourceful and unique and has a high level of respect for human beings and their journey. Karilyn is committed to ongoing personal and professional development including regular supervision.

susie beltSusie Belt has been working with The Impetus Team since 2006 after a career in Real Estate and Recruitment. She brings her organisational, administrative, financial and research skills to provide a complete back office support for the coaching practice. Susie is responsible for updating client files, producing documents, booking all appointments, travel arrangements, PowerPoint presentations, general administration and finance services for the business. Susie is the point of contact for all clients and works from The Impetus Team’s serviced offices in Bay Street Brighton.
